Hello! Welcome to 1st grade!
A little bit about myself:
I grew up in the Bay Area and am a Fremont native! I went to Azevada Elementary School, Walters Jr. High School, and Kennedy High School. I later went on to UC Davis to study Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I was 2 classes away from a minor in either Communications or Psychology and chose Communications for my minor. After working in industry for a couple years, I decided to change careers and teach! After a hard choice to quit my job, I attended San Jose State University for my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and M.A. in Education with a concentration on Curriculum and Design.
I love crafts! I love to draw, paint, and make cards. I have hosted a few paint nights with my friends. I try to knit and have mostly made scarves. I try to sew and have made 3 dresses of my own! I also dabble in the guitar and piano. But now, my husband is trying to get me to get rid of all the "clutter" in the house. ;)
I also love food! I love all foods and love trying new food! I love mostly fruits and trying savory dishes from lots of different countries. I've always felt the best way to learn a culture is through food!
I am passionate about teaching and am always looking to strengthen my craft. I am a believer in a growth mindset where the most important things I ask of my students are to TRY their best in their work and to BE KIND. I look forward to a successful year with your first grader!
